[ damn, ish's honor student mentality coming back out. but, when she arrives, yuwon dips his chin a bit in greeting. he's about to open his mouth, but then... it clamps shut at her words. ]
...
[ there's a small stretch of silence, before: ] I didn't think you were the type to make jokes like that.
[ as a joke? irony and joking are two sides of the same coin. or maybe it's just yuwon who thinks so. at any rate, he slides a utensil sit over towards her. ]
Is it weird to eat alone? Where I'm from, they used to a have a word for eating alone since it was so common. [ he says idly, as he drinks his water. he also sends her the drink menu through her oculars, just in case she wanted one. ]
[ it's strange. he normally hated noisy things and/or people, and yet the feeling he got when everyone was around was pretty similar to how he might have felt once upon a time in the tower. there was no use thinking of that now, however. ]
You know, you could just say you miss them. [ ... ] I'm not exactly fun, but I can at least hear you out.
[ the robot waiter arrives with her beer, and she immediately cracks that one open. ]
Isn't that obvious? In fact, I'm here to tell you the exact same thing. [ get out of her head, wtf. ] If you say you didn't miss Rodya at all, I'd kick your ass. Or our mutual friends, for that matter.
[ elysium. izou. gone into the ether, with no guarantee that they'll be coming back. ishmael takes a swig of her drink to help drown the sorrows that's starting to simmer up within her. ]

You would beat me up here? You didn't seem like the kind of person who would want to make a scene. [ a small hint of a sigh, though lighthearted enough to almost sound like a laugh. ] But, I'll pass on that for today.
You'll see her again. [ as for the rest...

[ YOU KNOW WHAT HE MEANS BICH. probably. just like meursault, he tends to be a little literal-minded, doesn't he...
but yeah. at least she will see rodion again once her stint here is over. that's a comforting thought at the end of the day. and yet she sighs, even when the robot waiter arrives with their food. ]
But what about the others? [ she doesn't want to sound like she's whining, but. well. she just sorta did. ] You'll forget me too, won't you? No. You will forget me, and how these xiao long bao taste. What's the point of it all.

[ he pops it in his mouth and it'd be hot if he didn't have heat resistance built into him, and so he chews on it thoughtfully, before he speaks again. ] I still think it makes a difference though. [ did that sound too confident?
maybe a bit. it's a weird feeling when he knows he's also told rodya with the same level of conviction that they had time together here. ]
It's still good isn't it? [ then is that pointless? ]
she falls silent at his words, looking down on their shared meal. it sure did sound too confident coming from him, but he must be speaking from experience as well. a wealth of experience, what with the things he'd told her about his adventure in the tower thus far.
she picks up one of the xiao long bao, piercing through the skin with her chopsticks to put some ginger into it, giving it a few puffs before tentatively sipping the broth. ]
...Yeah. It's still good.
[ and therefore, it doesn't matter.
she then takes the entire bun into her mouth, and chews. yeah, might as well cherish the present now while they can still remember. that's... probably what yuwon's trying to say here. ]
he's noticed that even when he speaks with unfounded conviction, she doesn't seem to think to doubt him. she doesn't refute his words, and he can also see where she does her best in interpreting whatever he says. at times like this, he's grateful for ishmael being able to read between the lines without prying.
it's probably why this trust must be mutual.

Then eat a lot and regain your energy. [ maybe it's his own way of trying to cheer her up, even if it's kind of clear he's not very good at it. either way, he does understand her point. he knows how much it stings to be forgotten, even with how apathetic he may appear on the surface.
so even if he doesn't say it out loud, he does think he wouldn't forget her, rodya, or anyone else so easily, either. ]

Huh? I wasn't joking. I was just stating the obvious.
[ hold on, just gonna pour herself some free green tea. ]
Unless you're the type to eat on your own if you couldn't get Rodya to go out and eat with you.

Too bad they're gone now. [ a sigh. ] Can't really deny that those noisy guys have livened up the place when they were still around.
